On June 18th, the Beijing Times Battery Base project, jointly invested and constructed by CATL, BAIC Group, Jingneng Group, Xiaomi Group, and others, held a groundbreaking ceremony in Yizhuang, Beijing.

The Beijing Times Battery Base project is designed according to the high standards of "Lighthouse Factory+Zero Carbon Factory", using Ningde Times' most advanced high cycle, high automation rate, and high flexibility production lines. After completion, it will provide stable mass production and high-quality battery products for customers of Beijing Tianjin Hebei automotive companies such as BAIC and Xiaomi. At the same time, it will also drive more upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain to land in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region.

At present, the battery cell brands of Xiaomi SU7 (parameters | inquiry) come from BYD blade batteries from Freddie, Shenxing batteries from CATL, and Kirin batteries, with battery energies of 73.6kWh, 94.3kWh, and 101kWh respectively, corresponding to CLTC operating conditions of 700km, 830km, and 800km.

On June 18th, BAIC Group and CATL signed a deepening strategic cooperation agreement to further deepen their cooperation in the new energy industry and jointly enhance their core competitiveness.

In terms of the new generation of intelligent chassis, both parties will carry out in-depth cooperation on the CIIC skateboard chassis project for the next-generation pure electric platform, jointly conducting research on skateboard chassis architecture, system, process, cost, and performance balance, and defining automotive, intelligent, and personalized products based on scenarios.

In the field of battery swapping business, BAIC Group has advantages in the development of new energy vehicles, especially in the development and market expansion of battery swapping car models. Over the years, it has deeply cultivated the domestic battery swapping taxi and ride hailing fields, accumulating rich experience in product development and promotion. Since the launch of the chocolate battery swapping service brand, CATL has vigorously promoted battery swapping standardization through continuous innovation in technology and business models. Based on their respective advantages, the cooperation between the two parties and CATL's wholly-owned subsidiary, CATL Electric Service, will focus on the development of battery swapping models and blocks, the circulation of battery swapping blocks, battery related data management, and regional cooperation in battery swapping stations. Both parties and their subsidiaries will also cooperate in the development, sales, battery sales, leasing, and energy services related to heavy-duty truck battery swapping business.

At the signing ceremony, BAIC Group, CATL, and Times Electric Service signed a framework agreement for the battery swapping project, and BAIC Research Institute and Times Intelligent signed a letter of intent for key technology cooperation on the new generation platform.
